Burton Roberts

    Burton John Roberts, 77, of Dallas died Thursday at the Hospice St. John
in-patient unit at Wilkes-Barre General HospitalBorn in Dallas Township, he
was a son of the late John and Estella Ellston Roberts.
   
He graduated from Dallas Borough High School as salutatorian of his class.
   
He was employed by Dallas Dairy as a milkman for several years.
   
He was then employed as a mechanic by Kanarr Corp.
   
Prior to retiring, he was a custodian for the Dallas School District.
   
He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II.
   
He was a member of the Huntsville Christian Church, Dallas, the Senior
Citizens and the Dallas American Legion.
   
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Bertha Mae Riley Roberts
in 1969.
   
Surviving are son, William D., Sykesville, Md.; daughters, Judith Roushey,
Trucksville; Janice Martinchak, Dallas, with whom he resided; Suellen Bush,
Trucksville; brothers, Carl, Dallas; Jack E., Wilkes-Barre; sister, Charlotte
LaCorte, Wilkes-Barre; Doris Puzak, Miami, Fla.; eight grandchildren; nine
great-grandchildren.
