WILKES-BARRE- The state Office of Inspector General filed charges against a
Dallas woman for allegedly failing to report $1,258 in wages while she
received public assistance.
Deborah Adams, 37, of Parrish Street, allegedly received the wages between
Nov. 1, 1996, and May 30, according to the state.
The charge of welfare fraud has been filed before District Justice Martin
Kane in Wilkes-Barre. If found guilty, Adams could receive a maximum sentence
of seven years in prison, $15,000 in fines, mandatory restitution and
disqualification from the program.
