Catherine E. Kytic, 89, formerly of Swoyersville, died Tuesday at the
Bradford
Ecumenical Home, BradfordBorn Nov. 4, 1908 in Edwardsville, she was the
daughter of the late Edward and Scholastica Sophie Troski Petroski.
She was educated in Edwardsville public schools.
Before she retired, she was employed as a nanny for several families in the
Wyoming Valley.
She moved to Bradford after the Agnes Flood in 1972.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Church,
Edwardsville.
She was formerly active with the West Side Flower Club and the Ladies
Auxiliary of the United Transportation Union.
She was involved with the Bradford American Association of Retired Persons
and the Jolly-Oldsters singing group.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Kytic Sr., in 1977; a
son, Paul David Kytic; brothers, Edward, Stanley, Andrew, Frank and Michael
Petroski.
Surviving is a son, John M. Kytic Jr., Bradford; four grandchildren; three
great-grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Rodgers, Los Angeles, Calif.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday from the Edwards and Russin
Funeral Home, 717 Main St., Edwardsville, with Requiem services at 11 a.m. in
St. John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Church. The Rev. Alexander Tandilashvili
will officiate.
Interment will be in Eastern Orthodox Lawn of Fern Knoll Burial Park,
Dallas.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to the time of the service on Saturday.
