LEHMAN TWP.- Lake-Lehman improved to 8-0 with a 15-3, 15-0 victory over
Pittston Area on Tuesday in Wyoming Valley Conference boys volleyball.
   
Mark Steele led the Black Knights with six kills, 10 assists, four blocks
and two digs. Russ Wenrich had six kills and four blocks. Noah Pickett added
four kills, two blocks and a dig while Ted Sadowski chipped in with three
blocks and two kills.
    Lehman placed third this past weekend in the Plum Invitational Tournament
in Pittsburgh. Steele was named to the all-tournament team. The Black Knights
are ranked 13th in the state.
   
Hazleton Area 2, West Side Tech 1
   
PRINGLE- After dropping the first match 15-10, Hazleton Area rebounded to
post two 17-15 wins as the Cougars edged West Side Tech.
   
Shawn Novis had three kills and two blocks while Jay Metzger collected two
kills and three blocks for West Side Tech. Keith Mutchler chipped in with
three service points for the Titans.
   
Dallas 2, North Pocono 1
   
MOSCOW- Dallas ran five consecutive points to win the third game 15-11 to
seal its win over North Pocono.
   
Dallas won the first game 15-6 and then dropped the second 15-13 before
pulling out the win. Pete Redmond led Dallas with 16 kills, while Justin
Hoover finished with 31 assists. Eric Steltz totaled 23 digs and Jim Gravin
had 15 digs.
   
For North Pocono, Mike Fazen smacked 10 service points and Joe Roscioli
collected 15 assists. Bryce Coslett had seven blocks.
   
North Pocono won the junior varsity match, 15-5 and 15-10.
   
Tunkhannock 2, Abington Heights 0
   
TUNKHANNOCK- Ty Zurn had 10 kills and five blocks as Tunkhannock downed
Abington Heights, 15-2 and 15-6.
   
Justin MacBain had 10 kills, while Brian Clarke had five blocks and John
Bedell had three blocks.
   
Wyoming Area 2, Coughlin 0
   
WILKES-BARRE- Wyoming Area was victorious in two games as it swept past
Coughlin 15-2, 15-4.
   
The Warriors also won the ju nior varsity match 15-3, 15-6, while dropping
one game to the Crusaders 3-15.
   
Valley West 2, Nanticoke 0
   
PLYMOUTH- Matt McCormick had 11 assists to lead the Spartans in a 15-7,
15-7 victory over vi
