EXETER- The School Board on Tuesday night hired Michael J. Pasonick Jr. to
conduct a feasibility study for a new middle school.
   
“We feel our schools are filled to their maximum,” said district
Superintendent Joseph Casarella. “There’s a need to start a building program.”
    The $4,900 study, according to Casarella, will begin as soon as possible
and examine the impact of moving grades six through eight from the high school
into their own building.
   
Board member Thomas Kearns questioned Casarella whether Pasonick was the
only firm contacted to do the study. Earlier in the meeting, the board had
approved paying Pasonick $7,562 for work on an unrelated renovation project.
   
Casarella said Pasonick previously has done studies for the district and
already has most of the information for a new feasibility study.
   
In other business, the board appointed Colella Chiropractic and Dr. Philip
Webb as the district’s chiropractors.
   
Board members Robert Orlando and Kearns questioned why the school needs
chiropractors.
