WILKES-BARRE — Two city residents were cited with public drunkenness Saturday morning after police received complaints about their behavior at the U.S. Post Office on South Main Street.
Arrested were Lisa Kutzer of South Grant Street and Andrew Hill of Madison Street, who were at the post office with a child, police said. The youth’s age and relationship to the pair were not indicated.
Officers responded to the post office shortly after 11 a.m. after a complaint that Kutzer was grabbing another person and dropping items on the floor.
According to a police report, Kutzer had dilated pupils, could not stop moving, and could not follow an officer’s commands, stating that she was on methadone.
Hill had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage, glossy eyes and an open container of beer in his possession, police said.
The pair were taken into custody. The child was taken to headquarters and subsequently turned over to her mother, according to police.
BUTLER TWP. — A Sugarloaf woman allegedly stole from a patient while employed at Fritzingertown Senior Living Community.
Melissa Funk, 28, was charged via summons with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property, Butler Township police said Sunday.
According to police, Funk stole $150 in cash and $50 worth of coins from a patient. An internal investigation also revealed the theft of an additional $40 in cash, police said.
The alleged thefts took place in March, according to court documents.
Funk faces a preliminary arraignment and hearing before District Judge Daniel O’Donnell on May 19.
HANOVER TWP. — Kelly Parks, 28, of Adams Street, was arrested during a reported domestic dispute after police learned Parks was wanted in Larksville on burglary charges, township police said Saturday. Parks was turned over to the Larksville Police Department.
HANOVER TWP. — Township police investigating a report of a suspicious male in the Sans Souci Trailer Court discovered a man wanted for burglary in Larksville, according to information released Saturday.
James Piacente, 36, of Hunlock Creek, was arrested and turned over to the Larksville Police Department.
HANOVER TWP. — Township police are investigating a report of ATVs riding on Boland Avenue, according to information released Saturday.
Police said they located an ATV along with a male in the wooded area behind Lee Park Towers, but the male jumped off and fled. The ATV was towed. Police said citations will be filed against the ATV operator.
HAZLE TWP. — State police are investigating vandalism at Hazle Township Community Park that occurred between 9:30 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday.
The railing of a pier at Lake Irene was damaged and thrown into the water. In addition, several garbage cans and a picnic table were thrown into the lake.

HAZLETON — Police Saturday responded to the reported theft of a handgun from a residence in the 500 block of Carson Street.
