Resident: fire-damaged Wilkes-Barre home later burglarized

WILKES-BARRE — A woman whose residence was damaged in a fire Wednesday reported that it was burglarized afterward, police said.

The 59-year-old woman called Luzerne County 911 Saturday afternoon to report the break-in. She told police that a television worth $1879, a watch worth $325 and nine pairs of sneakers valued between $130 and $150 per pair were stolen.

The woman had not been living at the residence since the fire and had been there last at 4 p.m. Friday, police said.
