HAZLETON — City police on Monday released the name of the man who was shot during an alleged burglary on Hayes Street on Saturday.

Police said Zachary Dangelo, 26, last known address as Oak Street, Freeland, was shot in the pelvic area at about 12:20 p.m. Dangelo was flown to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Township.

Police said Dangelo was found inside the residence when the homeowner returned from a shopping trip. The homeowner, whose name was not released, shot Dangelo with a handgun, police said.

Police said the investigation is continuing. No charges have been filed as of Monday.

HANOVER TWP. — Holly Rose of Adams Street reported Sunday her tan Fendi purse containing a wallet, cash, bank cards and numerous pieces of personal identification was stolen from her vehicle. Rose said she left her vehicle unattended for five minutes when the purse was stolen.

WILKES-BARRE — City police reported the following:

* A 32-inch Colby televison was stolen from 92 Carlisle St. between 10 p.m. Saturday and 5 p.m. Sunday.

* A man tried to steal items from Turkey Hill on North Pennsylvania Avenue on Saturday. Items fell from the man’s pants when he left the store and drove away in a white Ford.
