SWOYERSVILLE — A man was arraigned Thursday on charges he stole another man’s cellphone.
Chris Benussi, 20, of Rutter Avenue, Kingston, was charged with robbery, theft, harassment, disorderly conduct and purchase of alcohol by a minor. He was jailed at the county prison for lack of $25,000 bail.
Police allege Benussi stole a cellphone from a man walking on Shoemaker Street at about 12:25 a.m. Thursday, according to the criminal complaint.
Benussi and the phone were found in a residence on Sullivan Street, Forty Fort, police said.
SWOYERSVILLE — A man was arraigned Thursday on charges he assaulted two people inside a house on Main Street.
Robert Joseph Kelly, 37, of Main Street, Swoyersville, was charged with two counts each of simple assault and harassment. He was jailed at the county prison for lack of $10,000 bail.
Police charged Kelly after Kathleen Conahan alleged he punched her several times. Elizabeth Donovan alleged he slapped her at about 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, according to the criminal complaint.
EDWARDSVILLE — A man was arraigned Thursday on charges he assaulted another man.
Daniel T. Comoroski, 44, of East Grand Street, Nanticoke, was charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment. He was jailed at the county prison for lack of $10,000 bail.
Police allege Comoroski assaulted James Grafius in the wooded area of Tobin Lane and Flynn Street just after 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Police found Grafius with a severe head injury. He was taken to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Township, according to the criminal complaint.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled on May 22 before District Judge Paul Roberts in Kingston.
KINGSTON — Police arrested a man Wednesday night after he allegedly burglarized a house on North Gates Avenue and tried to break into another house on South Goodwin Avenue.
Jesse Rowles, 19, of Spring Street, Wilkes-Barre, was arraigned on two counts each of burglary and criminal mischief, and one count each of criminal trespass and theft. He was jailed at the county prison for lack of $20,000 bail.
According to the criminal complaint:
Joseph Dombek and Michelle Zinga told police they were working outside their house on North Gates Avenue when they spotted Rowles standing inside a hallway at about 7:45 p.m. Rowles told Dombek and Zinga that he was looking for drugs.
A bank card and two car keys were found in Rowles’ pockets. A bedroom door was damaged and an attempt was made to open a safe, police said.
Dombek and Zinga told police that the word “HATE” was tattooed on the burglar’s knuckles.
Police said that while they were investigating the burglary at North Gates Avenue, an alarm went off at a house on South Goodwin Avenue where a rear door was damaged.
Rowles was found hiding inside a residence on Main Street in Edwardsville. HATE was tattooed on his knuckles, police said.

WILKES-BARRE — A inmate was arraigned Thursday on an escape charge when he failed to return to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility.
Juan Gabriel Feliciano, 26, was remanded to the county prison for lack of $30,000 bail.
Feliciano was jailed on April 10 on a retail theft charge. He was permitted to leave the facility to go to Careerlink on East Union Street, Wilkes-Barre, and failed to return, according to the criminal complaint.
