Emergency workers secure the scene after an incident on state Route 309 in which a man jumped from the Rutter Avenue overpass of the Cross Valley Expressway on Monday afternoon. The man was transported to Geisinger Wyoming Valley in Plains Township, where he was pronounced dead, said Luzerne County Coroner John Corcoran. The 35-year-old Kingston man’s name isn’t being released until his family has been alerted. Northbound traffic on the expressway was temporarily stopped just after 3 p.m. The expressway reopened at 3:27 p.m., according to the state Department of Transportation.
