KINGSTON TWP. — A Shavertown man was arraigned Tuesday on charges he downloaded and shared child pornography.
Matthew B. Silvestri, 20, of Summit Street, was charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography, and one count each of dissemination of child pornography and criminal use of communication facility. He was arraigned by District Judge James Tupper and released after posting $10,000 bail.
State police Bureau of Criminal Investigations and Luzerne County detectives with the Northeast Computer Crime Task Force allege they found eight movie clips of naked children and two movie clips of children engaged in lewd acts on Silvestri’s computer, according to the criminal complaint.
Investigators searched Silvestri’s house on Monday and seized a laptop computer.
Silvestri allegedly told investigators he possessed and distributed child pornography using sharing software, the complaint says.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled on April 18.
WILKES-BARRE — State police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement reported they recently cited Wyoming Valley Detachment Marine Corps League Home Association,Inc., 158 E. Main St., with possessing or operating gambling devices or permitted gambling or lotteries.
HAZLETON — City police said numerous car windows were broken with a pellet gun throughout the city. Anyone with information about the vandalism is asked to call 911.
PLYMOUTH - Plymouth police reported they took Brian Engle, no address listed, who was wanted on several outstanding warrants, into custody Tuesday after a police officer on patrol witnessed him enter a home.
