Can you believe that Black Friday is just days away? What a glorious time for shoppers looking for a deal. But why wait? Many stores are already rolling out super sales today. Check out the inserts in today’s Times Leader for deals that may save you some time and headaches of heading out Thanksgiving or Friday.
But before we get into this week’s best sales, let’s remember what this week is truly about. CVS and Rite Aid freebies. No, I kid. It’s about Thanksgiving and that means juicy turkeys, all the fixings and the desserts, mmmm, the desserts.
If you haven’t spent enough money at your local grocer to earn a free or discounted turkey, have no fear. Most stores are offering them for a reasonable price per pound this week.
Shur Save has Shurfine frozen turkeys for 49 cents per pound, when you use your Gold Card and an additional $35 purchase.
Thomas’ Foodtown locations have their brand hen turkeys for 49 cents per pound with your club card when you make an additional $35 in purchases.
Weis has its own brand turkeys for 59 cents per pound with an additional $25 purchase and your Weis Card.
At Price Chopper, you can grab a House of Raeford turkey for 49 cents a pound when you use your Advantage Card, make an additional $25 in purchases and use the coupon on the cover of the store’s circular.
OK, back to CVS freebies. The pharmacy has 20 items available this week that you can buy and get the full purchase price back by way of Extra Bucks if you use your Extra Care Card.
See page 2 and 3 of its circular for all the offers, that if you get them all would total close to $60. The deals include Kraft macaroni and cheese, adult and children’s Advil, Total Home laundry detergent and Sparkle paper towels.
And for you Black Friday shoppers, make sure you buy Thursday’s supersized edition of The Times Leader which will be chock full of sales circulars from all your favorite retailers. But some retailers put their sales into today’s paper including Rite Aid, which is open on Thanksgiving Day and kicking off a three-day special sale that day.
Among the best deals are getting three candy bars from Hershey’s, Wrigley’s or Nestle for $2 and getting $1 back in +Up Rewards when you use your Wellness+ Card. In addition, there’s a buy one, get two free deal on holiday wrapping paper and gift bags.
And not to be outdone by the CVS freebies, Rite Aid has six items that you an buy and get the full purchase price back via +Up Rewards. Among the products are Philips earbuds, Yardley soap and Rite Aid brand invisible tape to seal that gift wrap with.
PREIT, the company that owns The Wyoming Valley Mall and other shopping centers across the country, has launched a fun, and free, game online at http://merrymatchup.com. Sign up and earn sweepstakes entries each day to be entered for a chance to win a $2,500 shopping spree. But in addition, you can play a match game, up to three times a day, that can earn you prizes and discounts at mall stores.
Check it out and play away.
