MEETINGS
GAR Track, 7 p.m. today in the school choral room. Fund-raiser plans will
be finalized and all parents are urged to attend.
Hanover Area Quarterback Club, 8 p.m. today at Beer Bellies, in Lee Park.
Lee Park Little League, 7:30 p.m. today at Alexis Tavern in Hanover
Township. This meeting will be for the board of directors. All parents and
coaches are invited to attend.
Plains Baseball, Inc., 6 p.m. Sunday at Ole Tyme Charley’s Restaurant. All
managers should attend.
South Wilkes-Barre Skyhawks Soccer, 7 p.m. Sunday in the second-floor
boardroom of Mellon Bank, Public Square. All coaches urged to attend. Call Tom

REGISTRATIONS/SIGN-UPS/TRYOUTS
Dupont AA Softball, 5:30-7 p.m. today at Dupont VFW, rear entrance. All
girls from the Pittston area, ages 8-17, are eligible. Proof of age is
required. Fees are $20 per player or $30 for a family. Teams will be picked
and uniforms ordered. A $5 late fee will be charged to anyone who signs up
late. Last year’s players are asked to return their pants and stirrups.
Dupont AA Tee Ball, 5:30-7 p.m. today at the Dupont VFW rear entrance. This
will be final registration for the tee ball program. All boys and girls from
greater Pittston, ages 4-7, are eligible. Fee is $10 per player. Teams will be
picked and uniforms ordered. A $5 late fee will be charged for anyone who
signs up late. Last year’s players are asked to return their pants and
stirrups.
Kingston Baseball and Softball, today at the armory, Market Street for new
players. Girls softball major league and boys minor league at 5 p.m., and boys
Little League at 6:30 p.m. All participants will be placed on teams. New
registrations will be taken 15 minutes prior to each tryout. Call 287-4601.
Kingston Little League and Minor League, today at the armory, Market
Street. This will be final sign-up and tryout. Minor league will be at 5 p.m.
and Little League will be at 6 p.m. Call Gary Greenberg at 287-7963.
Lee Park Little League, 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Little League field.
Tryouts will be for players ages 8-12.
Pittston Township Little League, 1-4 p.m. Sunday at the Little League
fieldhouse on Bryden Street. The registration fee is $30 for one child and $5
for each additional child. New players need a birth certificate and must be
accompanied by a parent. There will be a separate registration for Junior and
Senior little league, that registration fee is $40 per player. Children who
are 5 years old by Aug. 1 are eligible for tee ball.
Take the Charge’s, 6 p.m. today at Johnson Tech. This will be the second
tryout.
Wilkes-Barre Girls Softball, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Monday at the Spinning Wheel
Restaurant on Carey Avenue. The league will hold final registrations for girls
ages 7 to 16. Participants will be divided into three-age based divisions.
Fees are $40 per player or $60 for a family, plus participation in the league
fund-raiser. Call 822-3991.
Nanticoke Little League, at noon on Saturday, at the Little League field
for girls ages 7-12 to play minor league and major league softball.
UPCOMING EVENTS
Fifth-Grade Basketball Tournament, the Wyoming Valley Catholic Youth Center
is accepting school team registrations for a fifth-grade basketball
tournament. The double-elimination tournament will begin on Monday. There will
be a boys and a girls division.
