First National Community Bank (FNCB) today became the first Northeastern Pennsylvania community bank and is among the nation’s first financial institutions to utilize leading-edge responsive technology with the re-launch of www.fncb.com.
FNCB.com is now a website that is fully responsive, changes, scales and adapts to the device a user is on. Whether the user is on a smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop, the site automatically reformats itself. There is no application to download and no need to redirect visitors to a mobile device specific site.
“The responsive web design approach is ideal for delivering the best user experience across the broad spectrum of devices available today,” said Joseph Earyes, Chief Retail Banking and Operations Officer. “By using responsive design, our customers will no longer have to keep zooming or panning to find what they are looking for. The information will automatically reformat for their device.”
Another major advantage of a responsive website is a consistent URL address. With the same URL for every device, there’s no longer a need for redirecting to a different mobile address. When links are shared through social media via smartphones, desktop users won’t experience the frustration of unexpectedly landing on a mobile version of the site.
“We are excited to be the first locally-based bank in Northeastern Pennsylvania with a responsive website,” added Earyes. “As an early adopter of this technology, we are providing an enhanced experience for our customers while further demonstrating our commitment to the electronic banking environment.”
