Well here we are moving into the hottest part of the summer and Mother Nature is definitely making up for the long cold winter.

Today’s Times Leader has a whole host of steals, ranging from home appliances and grocery items to outdoor merchandise and apparel for you to take advantage of this week.

I love the heat, but if you like to be cooler, you may want to check out Target’s flier, found in today’s Times Leader, and find the Haier 8,000 BTU window air conditioner on sale for $214.99.

Also in this week’s Target insert find a $20 in-store coupon, valid until July 12, on a purchase of $100 worth of baby products including car seats, apparel, diapers, food, formula and much more. See the coupon for details.

To light up your landscaping, take advantage of Target’s sale on Solar Pathway lights for $1 a piece.

If a remodel or just updating your appliances is on your agenda, you may want to check out Home Depot and hhgregg’s sales fliers in today’s Times Leader. Appliances are one of those household items that need to fit your lifestyle, so it makes it hard for me to recommend one sale over the other. I recommend you check them both out, and the features of each appliances to make sure it fits your needs and budget.

Switching gears, Kmart is advertising double manufacturer coupons until July 12 for shopping club members.

Let’s see what coupons from today’s Times Leader we can team up with their sales. I found Mr. Clean Cleaners, 32 to 40 ounces, Magic Eraser, two count, on sale for two for $6. Combine the manufacturer’s coupon of $1 off two Mr. Clean liquids.

Or start preparing for the inevitable, Back To School (yes there are already back to school savings available), find the manufacturer’s coupon for $1 off on two 5-Star one subject notebooks with Kmart’s sale price of $3 a piece.

Ladies, I found Cover Girl cosmetics are on sale, buy one and get one 50 percent off, at Kmart. You can combine this with one of three Cover Girl coupons, which include, $3 off one Cover Girl LashBlast mascara; $4 off two Cover Girl lip products; or $3 off one Cover Girl plus Olay product.

Remember you can only use one Cover Girl coupon per purchase. To receive double coupon value, use your Kmart/Sears membership card.

Dallas Centre Hardware is offering some relief from the bugs with its sale on Do It Best brand insect killer, assorted formulas, for $2. Combine this with their mail-in rebate of $2 and technically get it free.

To help with the high humidity we’ve been dealing with, Dallas Centre Hardware also has a 30-pint dehumidifier on sale for $159. And definitely check out their sale on HTH Shock’n Swim, one pound, for $2.29. Sale prices are valid through to July 27.

Whether you want to capture the beauty of summer through painting or displaying your photos in a scrapbook, Michael’s has some coupons and sales for you.

Check out their circular in today’s Times Leader and find a whole selection of in-store coupons to fit your talent, including but not limited to 30 percent off jewelry making supplies, 50-percent off scrapbooking paper pads, 12 by 12 inch, and acrylic, watercolor and oil paints, brushes, pencils, pastels and markers 40 percent off. This sale is valid until July 12.

Price Chopper’s insert has some great buy one, get two deals. For example, check out their buy one, get two free sale on Thomas’s Original English Muffins, Maier’s Italian Bread, Entenmann’s Chocolate Cookies and Little Bites, and Sun Maid Raisin Bread.

Also you can stock up on Crest toothpaste. All 6.4-ounce varieties are on sale — buy one get two of the same, free.

And don’t forget their deal on Eastern Blueberries, $1.48 a pint. Just remember to show your Price Chopper card to receive the sale prices. Prices are valid this week until July 12.

My cost-cutting tip this week is to mark your calendars for the Back Mountain Library’s annual auction scheduled for July 10 through 13. It is a great way to scoop up some new reading materials, home furniture and décor, art work and, of course, enjoy some great food.

Have fun this summer.
