HARRISBURG — Tuesday, Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf named 48 new members to the Pennsylvania Pipeline Infrastructure Task Force.

The appointees are representatives from state agencies, legislature, federal and local governments.

The task force is a group of experts and stakeholders to propose policies, guidelines and best practices for the pipeline infrastructure build-out planned for the Commonwealth.

“Governor Wolf has charged the task force with crafting an innovative, collaborative and responsible approach to pipeline development that balances environmental protection with economic opportunity,” said John Quigley, chairman of the Department of Environmental Protection Secretary said in a written press release. “Through smart planning, Pennsylvania can experience economic prosperity, achieve energy security, and protect the environment and communities.”

The task force will meet at 1 p.m. July 22 at DEP’s South-Central Regional Office, 909 Elmerton Ave., Harrisburg. The meeting is open to the public and streamed live. The meeting can be viewed on DEP’s website, www.depweb.state.pa.us.
