Maureen Rinehimer, P.T., M.S., M.H.S., assistant professor of physical therapy, made the research poster presentation “Factors that Contribute to Patient-Child Interactions of Pre-Term Infants in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)’’ at the Pennsylvania Physical Therapy Association Annual Conference in Seven Springs in October. Rinehimer, the principal investigator, co-authored the study with Genevieve P. Zipp, Ed.D., P.T.; Terrence Cahill, Ed.D., F.A.C.H.E., and Raju K. Parasher, Ed.D., M.Sc., P.T.

Patricia Sumrall, of Pocono Summit, was named director of materials management at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Orthopedic surgeon Casey Burke, D.O., was published in the June 2015 edition of the Journal of Hand Surgery with his article “Therapist-Supervised Hand Therapy Versus Home Therapy With Therapist Instruction Following Distal Radius Fracture.” Burke was also recently inducted into the American Society of Surgery of the Hand as a full active member. James Shea has been named practice manager of Wilkes-Barre Academic Medicine. Pyone Myat Mon, M.D., recently joined Commonwealth Health Physicians Health Alliance to practice internal medicine. Dr. Mon earned a Bachelor of medicine and a Bachelor of surgery from the Institute of Medicine, Yanfon, Myanmar. Ted Kross has been named to serve as director of the emergency department at Tyler Memorial Hospital. A graduate of the Pittston Hospital School of Nursing, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in health care administration and a Master of Science degree in health care administration from King’s College. Donna Powell has been chief executive officer of Commonwealth Health Physician Network. Powell earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and a Master of Science degree in health care administration from Villanova University. Patricia Kane has been named the chief operating officer of Commonwealth Health Physician Network. Kane holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from College Misericordia. She earned a Master’s Degree in health administration from the University of Scranton. Simon Tabchi, D.P.M., has joined the medical staff at Commonwealth Health Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Moravian College and a Doctorate of podiatric medicine from Temple University.

LACKAWANNA COLLEGE

Jill A. Murray, Ph.D., is now the executive vice president and chief innovation officer. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Scranton and a master’s degree from SUNY at Albany. Murray earned her Ph.D. from Marywood University in human development with a concentration in instructional leadership. Erica Barone-Pricci, Ph.D., is now the chief academic officer as well as the vice president for academic affairs. Barone-Pricci earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Marywood University and a Master’s Degree in English from Lehigh University. She earned a doctoral degree in human development with a concentration in higher education administration from Marywood University. Brian Costanzo is the College’s new vice president for college advancement. After earning his associate degree in education from Lackawanna College, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in education from Penn State University and a Master’s Degree in higher education administration from Marywood University.
