SWOYERSVILLE — UGI Utilities’ Electric Division is currently experiencing two outages affecting approximately 4,000 customers on the West Side.

According to Joe Swope, UGI spokesman, an outage in the Swoyersville area is impacting approximately 3,000 customers. UGI crews are on the scene and the company expects to restore service to customers in the area by 11 a.m.

Swope said a second outage is affecting an additional 1,000 customers in the Kunkle area. UGI has dispatched crews and is currently assessing the cause of that outage and establishing a time frame for restoration.

Calls to the Times Leader were received from UGI customers in Kingston and Forty Fort who reported outages as well. Swope could not confirm those reports.

Swope said UGI thanks all of its customers affected by the outages for their patience and understanding. He said UGI is working to restore service as quickly as possible.
