OLEAN, N.Y. — Youssou Ndoye scored 11 of his 12 points in the second half, and St. Bonaventure clamped down on defense in upsetting No. 21 Massachusetts 78-65 on Wednesday night.
Guard Matthew Wright, with 11 points, got the raucous crowd on its feet by putting the finishing touches on the win with a 3-pointer with 55 seconds remaining. The Bonnies (13-8, 3-4 Atlantic 10) ended a 24-game losing streak against ranked opponents, which dates to a 57-56 home win over No. 20 Temple on Jan. 15, 2000.
The near sellout crowd began yelling “Yes! Yes! Yes!” with 30 seconds left, and then stormed the court.
Trey Davis scored 18 points for the Minutemen (17-3, 4-2), who lost for the second time in three games.
Star guard Chaz Williams was a non-factor. He finished with 11 points and fouled out with 1:39 remaining.
No. 22 Memphis 69, UCF 59
ORLANDO, Fla. — Joe Jackson scored 17 points, Chris Crawford and Michael added 12 each and No. 22 Memphis was able to hold off Central Florida.
The victory extends the Tigers’ winning streak to four games. Memphis (16-4, 6-2 American) also extended its conference road winning streak to 16 games.
UCF (9-9, 1-6) was within a basket for most of the second half, but was outscored 13-5 to end the game.
Isaiah Sykes led UCF with 24 points.
The loss drops the Knights to 1-15 all-time against the Tigers.
