Trinity Episcopal Church of West Pittston celebrated Trinity Sunday on June 15 by honoring those who have worked over the years to establish and maintain an Episcopal presence in West Pittston. The church presented two special awards. Marie Hoover received the Trinity Stewardship Award, which is given annually to a member of the parish family or friends who has demonstrated a commitment to giving of time, talent and treasure for the good of the parish and the community. The church’s vestry and parish leadership also presented a special memorial award in recognition of more than 30 years of service by Paul Williams. Williams served as a vestry member and treasurer for 30 years. A plaque was placed on the lighted Trinity sign in his memory. The plaque was presented to William’s wife, Mary, his brother, John, and sister-in-law, Beverly, by the 2014 officers of Trinity’s vestry: Rick Logan Sr., warden; Charise O’Konski, junior warden; Dave Rickenbach, treasurer; and Mary Jo Pavinski, secretary/clerk. At the dedication of the sign, from left, are Beverly Williams, John Williams, Mary Williams, Logan, O’Konski, Pavinski and Rickenbach.
