A concert for Rebecca, “Rebecca-stop Violence 5,” will be held from 7 p.m. to midnight on Jan. 25 at King’s Pizza, Route 309. Snow date is Feb. 2.


Paint classes with Lois Scott will begin at 6 p.m.on Jan. 27. No experience is needed. A small fee will be charged for the class and supplies are separate. Paint is supplied.


MOUNTAIN TOP: St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 316 S. Mountain Blvd., is collecting new or gently used winter coats and jackets for adults and children during daily office hours 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.


SCRANTON: Pennsylvanian’s for Human Life will hold its annual “Respect Life” prayer breakfast at 9 a.m. on Jan. 25 at St. Mary’s Center, 320 Mifflin Avenue.


The principal speaker will be Dr. Anthony Levatino, who will share his unique perspective about why a physician who has been trained to give life would take it away. The story of his conversion from an abortionist to right-to-life activist has educated and motivated audiences worldwide. Dr. Levatino, who testified before Congress supporting the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, relates the toll abortion took on his family until a personal tragedy occurred that changed his life.

WILKES-BARRE: The Knights of Columbus Council 302 is honoring Monsignor Thomas V. Banick at an anniversary dinner dance at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 25 at the Touch of Class, 228 George Avenue. The event is open to all, especially parishioners of St. Mary’s Church, Our Lady of Fatima Parish.
