The Town Hill United Methodist Church Youth Group and the surrounding community joined forces on New Year’s Day for a polar bear plunge at Shickshinny Lake to raise money for Give Kids The World in Kissimmee, Fla., a non-profit organization that exists to fulfill the wishes of all children with life-threatening illnesses and their families from around the world to experience a memorable, joyful, free visit to the central Florida attractions and to enjoy the magic of Give Kids The World Village. The youth group volunteered at Give Kids The World during the summer. All proceeds from the plunge will benefit Give Kids The World. Some of the participants, from left, are Sam Shaffer, Peter Homnick, Glenn Shaffer, Sarah Shaffer and Drew Hercik.
