NANTICOKE: The First Primitive Methodist Church of Nanticoke, East Church and Prospect streets, is hosting a children’s Winter Fun Fest from 6-7 p.m. on Monday. PITTSTON/WEST PITTSTON/WYOMING: The Pittston Memorial Library, West Pittston Library and Wyoming Free Library are holding a “Little Miss and Mister Library” contest. Children between the ages of 7-10 who are members of the participating libraries are eligible.
The applicants are required to submit an essay to their local library entitled, “What I like about my library.” The essay deadline is March 31 and the winners will be announced on April 14. Submissions can be dropped off at the three libraries.
The winners will participate in various community events, including the Cherry Blossom Festival, Memorial Day Parade and the Tomato Festival.

WILKES-BARRE: Sweet Frog is hosting a community event for Mardi Gras from 4-9 p.m. on March 4. Twenty-five percent of the frozen yogurt sales during that time will be donated to the Children’s Miracle Network hospitals. The donations will support research and training, purchase equipment and save and improve the lives of children.
The fundraiser is sponsored by Miss Northeastern Pennsylvania Caroline Jones. She and the Sweet Frog mascot will be making appearances at the fundraiser.
