John E. Kaleta, 64, of Trucksville, passed away suddenly Monday, November 29, 2010, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital shortly after admission.

Born in Kingston, he was a son of Cassie Woytanis Kaleta and the late John Kaleta.

He was a graduate of Dallas High School.

Before retiring, he was an equipment operator for the Kingston Township Road Department.

He attended the Shavertown United Methodist Church and was a life member of the Trucksville Volunteer Fire Department.

Jack was active in Back Mountain youth baseball, basketball and soccer.

In addition to his mother, Jack is survived by his wife of 39 years, the former Deborah Bullock; children Kimberly Kaleta, Trucksville; Kristine Moss and husband Ryan, Shavertown; Kathryn Hrivnak and husband Todd, Wyoming; Karen Alessi and husband Stephen, Mountain Top; Colleen Kaleta, England; and Jeremy, William, Ashley, and Malik, all at home; siblings Daniel Kaleta, Wyoming; Charlotte Mahavits, Forty Fort; and Carol Kaleta, Wyoming; as well as grandchildren Chloe, Courtney, Justin, Allison and Makenzie.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday from the Richard H. Disque Funeral Home Inc., 672 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with the Rev. M. Lynn Snyder officiating. Interment will be in Huntsville Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
