All three high schools in the Wilkes-Barre Area School District recently celebrated National Foreign Language Week with numerous activities promoting the benefits of studying a foreign language. Each day, morning announcements were given in a different language. Classrooms, hallways and display cases were decorated with world language projects and cafeterias served a lunch item representing a foreign language and culture. This year’s theme was ‘Don’t Let Learning a Language Slip Through your Fingers.’ Coughlin students in front of the decorated front lobby case, from left, are Marc Esser, Madison Pugh, Antonio Frankelli, Jacob Kuna, Morgan Daniels, Renee Jackson, Jessica Harvey, Cassy Silveri Kristen Wilde, Deanna Richards, Christine Lapsansky, Bailley Brannigan, Patrick Reilly and Chris Huertero.
