Members of the Second Presbyterian Church, Parsonage Street, Pittston, are preparing for Easter with special Lenten services. On Sunday, March 29, prior to the morning service, the deacons of the church are hosting a coffee hour 10-10:45 a.m. in the Narthex of the church. A Palm Sunday celebration will be held at the 11 a.m. service. The choir and the Sunday School children will sing special songs. Palms will be given and baskets for the church’s shut-ins will be distributed. At 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, Maundy Thursday will be celebrated with the sacrament of holy communion. A sunrise service will be held at 7 a.m. on Sunday, April 5, on the church steps. A continental breakfast will be served after the service.
