State Senator John Yudichak (D-Luzerne/Carbon) recently met with State Representative Gerald Mullery and Newport Township officials to see the latest addition to the township recycling program. An $88,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection was used to buy a recycling truck specifically designed for curbside collections. Newport Township contributed $10,000 to purchase the vehicle that replaces a 1998 truck.
