As part of their studies into the structure, duties and actions of the federal government, 34 Wyoming Seminary students traveled to Washington D.C. for a two-day field trip. The students, all juniors and seniors, are enrolled in the Advanced Placement (AP) Government course. They toured the Newseum, Capitol Hill and the Smithsonian Institutes, visited the National Archives and observed Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont speaking on the Senate floor. They also met two Seminary alumni, Omeed Firouzi ’11, a senior at George Washington University and an intern at the Global Strategy Group, and Christina Brown ’07, a legislative aide for Senator Robert Casey, who focuses on foreign, defense and veterans issues.
