Wyoming Area’s AP physics class competed at the 12th annual Kane Physics Competition on April 15 at the University of Scranton. The team of Justin Palovchak, Matthew Harding, Marcus Marchetti, Zach Scrobola and Sara Romanowski captured the third place overall trophy out of field of 32 teams from 15 schools. Joe Roach finished in first place out of 201 students competing in the Kane Jeopardy Quiz individual competition and was awarded the first-place plaque and a $500 gift card valid at his chosen college’s bookstore. The theme for this year’s competition was music in physics. Students were encouraged to dress according to the theme and Dominick Forlenza won the trophy for best costume with his rendition of Alice Cooper.
