MMI students place in math competition

A team of students from MMI Preparatory School recently placed fourth in the team competition at the MATHCOUNTS competition, sponsored by the Keystone Northeast Chapter of Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers, at Martin L. Mattie Middle School in Pittston. Fourteen schools and 113 students competed in the tournament. In the individual competition, Ali Aijaz had the fourth highest individual score and placed fourth in the countdown round. He will advance to the state competition in Harrisburg on Friday and Saturday.
