The Luzerne County Community College Health, Physical Education and Exercise Science Department is holding a Race for a Cause 5K run/fun walk at 9 a.m. on April 27 at the college’s campus in Nanticoke. Registration fee is $15 per person. Participants can register in advance or on the day of the race. Race day registration begins at 8 a.m. at the Atherton Gymnasium. Proceeds benefit local charities. Awards will be given to the first overall male and female in the 5K run. Awards will also be given to the top three finishers in the following age groups for both males and females in the 5K run: 19 and younger, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 and over. A free T-shirt will be given to the first 100 registered participants.
