AVOCA: The Avoca Lions Club is hosting a food bank from 4-6:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Bethel United Methodist Church, Main Street. Volunteers are needed to help unload the truck. Volunteers should arrive at 1:30 p.m. and bring boxes.

DALLAS: The Back Mountain Memorial Library is seeking plant donations and volunteers for the plant tent at the Back Mountain Memorial Library Auction to be held July 11-14. For more information, call Cheryl at 570-204-8324.

PLYMOUTH: The Plymouth Public Library, 107 W. Main St., recently announced the following activities.

• The summer reading program starts today and continues to Aug. 12. Hours are 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Monday and 10:30 a.m. to noon Tuesday through Thursday. The theme of this year’s program is “Dig into Reading” and it is open to toddlers through teens.

• An adult reading program will begin today and run through Aug. 31. Registration should be made at the circulation desk.

• Adult computer lessons are available. Call the library at 570-779-4775 to schedule a lesson.

• A summer book sale will take place from noon to 5 p.m. on Aug. 23 and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Aug. 24.
