Komen NEPA Race for the Cure® planned

Council and committee members are planning the Komen NEPA Race for the Cure® to be held on Sept. 21 in downtown Scranton. Seventy-five percent of the net proceeds stay in Northeastern Pennsylvania to fund local community education, early detection screening and treatment grants. A minimum of 25 percent of the funds is used for Komen National Research Grant Awards. The Komen NEPA affiliate serves 16 counties in the region, including Carbon, Clinton, Columbia, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Lycoming, Monroe, Montour, Northampton, Northumberland, Pike, Schuylkill, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Wayne and Wyoming.
