WILKES-BARRE — For a minute there Saturday night, Eleanor “Elly” Baloga,
of North Main Street in Wilkes-Barre, had a shot at the big bucks in the
Million Dollar Spin in the Pennsylvania Lottery.

She could have won up to $1 million in the weekly spin game.
“I was hoping maybe I’ll hit the big one,” she said afterwards.

Instead, when the ball dropped onto someone else’s name, Baloga had to
settle for $5,000.

“I’m happy anyway,” said Baloga, a housewife who celebrated her birthday
Friday. “I’ll probably share the pot with my son and daughter.”

Baloga, who is nursing a cold, said she was “flabbergasted they picked my
ticket from the pot.” Lottery officials collect the tickets in Harrisburg.

Baloga’s ticket was purchased at the Turkey Hill store on North Main
Street.

She said she’ll continue playing the lottery.

“It’s something to do.”
