ALDEN: St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 12 E. Kirmar Ave., is sponsoring the Blessing of Animals at 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 6. The public is invited to bring their animals to be blessed by the Rev. John Leo.
Items to be donated to a local animal shelter would be appreciated. Some examples include non-clumping clay cat litter, dry adult cat or dog food without red dye, canned cat or dog food, dry kitten or puppy chow, collars and leashes and pet shampoo without pesticides.
MONTROSE: The October second Sunday vesper service will be held at 5 p.m. on Oct. 13 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Church and Chestnut streets. Mary Lee Fitzgerald will welcome guests and the Rev. Chase Page will read the lessons. The Faithful Flutists of the Tunkhannock area will present music selections. Sarah Bertsch is the organist for the ecumenical service. A simple supper will be served in the Parish House after the service.
NANTICOKE: Mark Bradford, a worship leader, singer, songwriter and producer, will conduct a free workshop for Christian Praise Teams and Praise Bands from 1-3 p.m. on Oct. 6 at the Nebo Baptist Church, 75 S. Prospect Street.
Bradford, the worship director at Hope Fellowship, Denver, Colo., will discuss the purpose and definition of worship, the role of a worship leader and topics such as choosing the right songs, transitioning between songs and more. He will present a concert for the public at 7 p.m. A free-will offering will be received. A dessert hour will take place after the concert.

WILKES-BARRE: St. Stephen’s Episcopal Pro-Cathedral, 35 S. Franklin St., presents music from St. Stephen’s with a Choral Evensong for the feast of St. Michael and All Angels Sunday at 5 p.m. on Sunday. Choral Evensong is one of the great traditions of liturgical worship in the Anglican Communion. Much of the service is sung by the choir, although the congregation joins in singing hymns and in some spoken and sung responses. Choral music for this liturgy will include works by Charles Villiers Stanford, Herbert Murrill and Edward Cuthbert Bairstow. A free-will offering will be taken.
