The Back Mountain Bloomers Garden Club recently donated $15,000 to the Anthracite Scenic Trails Association (ASTA).

The Bloomers raised the money during the recent Tour of Back Mountain Gardens held June 29. The 2013 tour attracted close to 500 visitors and was made possible by 100 dedicated Bloomer and ASTA volunteers, who helped arrange the event and staff the garden tour locations.

The funding will be used by ASTA to continue its mission of developing the Back Mountain Trail.

The total amount donated to ASTA by the Back Mountain Bloomers through the six biannual garden tours to date has reached $53,526.
