DALLAS: Boys in grades 1-5 are welcome to attend the next Cub Scout Pack 232 event at 4 p.m. on Sunday at the Back Mountain Regional Fire and EMS Station, 184 East Center Hill Road.

NORTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA: Teachers of kindergarten through 12th grades are invited to apply for the 2013-2014 Educational Mini-Grant Program sponsored by the Lackawanna Heritage Valley National and State Heritage Area. The program will award 10 grants of $500 each to educators in Northeastern Pennsylvania to produce heritage and/or environmental projects. Those eligible to participate in the program include classroom teachers in the Northeastern Educational Intermediate Unit 19 service area and educators at cultural, historic and environmental organizations and sites.
The projects should either promote students’ understanding and appreciation of the Lackawanna Valley’s rich heritage and how it contributed to the nation’s development or expand the students’ understanding of their role as caretakers of the environment, particularly in the Lackawanna River watershed. The projects must take place between Dec. 1 and June 1, 2014.

PLYMOUTH: SS Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, 20 Nottingham St., is holding a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdayand noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday. Clearance day is Sunday. There will be homemade food including piggies, haluski, wimpies and hot dogs. A bake sale will also be held.
WYOMING: Wyoming Area School District has revised the calendar for the 2013-2014 school year. School will be closed on Nov. 28, Thanksgiving Day; Dec. 25, Christmas Day; Jan. 1, New Years Day; and May 26, Memorial Day. These are the only designated days schools will be closed for the 2013-2014 school year. All other days will be instructional days.
