Students from The Commonwealth Medical College (TCMC) are hosting the fourth annual Turkey Trot 5K walk/run on Nov. 2 in downtown Scranton. The event will also feature a Tiny Trot for those 13 years of age and younger. Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit the Friends of the Poor annual Thanksgiving community dinner. Check in for the Turkey Trot 5K walk/run begins at 7:30 a.m. in the main lobby of the TCMC Medical Sciences Building, 525 Pine St., Scranton. The Tiny Trot steps off at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K walk/run begins at 9 a.m. Race day registration is $25 or participants, ages 14 and older, can pre-register online for $20. T-shirts will be provided to registered Turkey Trot participants. Registration for the Tiny Trot (4-13 years) is $5 or two canned goods to be donated to the food drive. The 5K walk/run route begins and ends at TCMC’s Medical Sciences Building. PA Runners will be the official timekeeper of the event.
