The McCann School of Business and Technology Surgical Technology Department, led by Mary Lou Purnell, program director, recently conducted a mock surgery at the Laurel Mall in honor of National Surgical Technologist week. The goal of the surgery was to display the importance of the surgical technologist’s role in the operating room. The students were assisted by a local surgeon. Some of the participants, from left: Kelsey Murphy, Wapwallopen, student; Purnell; and Nadine Judge, Hazleton, student.
