Leather craftsman in D.C. show
   
A local leather craftsman, Joseph Sedeski of Center Moreland, is one of 120
    artists whose work was chosen by jury to participate in the 16th annual
   
Smithsonian Craft Show at the National Building Museum in Washington,
D.CThe show opened Thursday and continues through Sunday.
   
The call for entries drew approximately 1,600 applications from across the
country. The 120 selected by jury have work in the categories of basketry,
ceramics, decorative fiber, furniture, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed
media, paper, wearables and wood.
   
Sedeski is one of only four contributing leather work. The 48-year-old
craftsman is self-taught and has been a professional contemporary studio
craftsman for 26 years.
   
More than 16,000 people attended the 1997 show. The artists sold more than
