NANTICOKE
    Joint worship service scheduled May 17
   
A joint Sunday worship service of the Nanticoke United Methodist Church
Charge will be held at 10 a.m. May 17 in First United Methodist Church, 23 E.
Poplar
   
St., West Nanticoke. Other churches of the Charge include: Calvary United
Methodist Church, West Nanticoke, and First United Methodist Church,
Nanticoke.
   
The Rev. Paul Langley Sr., pastor, will officiate. A business meeting of
all congregational members of the three churches will follow.
   
There will only be one service that day. Anyone who needs transportation,
can contact Leonard Pawlowski, 735-6617; Donald Hill, 735-6094 or Frances
Hanley, 735-4552.
   
PLYMOUTH
   
Mother’s Day service
   
Mother’s Day will be observed at First Welsh Baptist Church at 10 a.m.
Sunday.
   
The children and adult choirs, directed by Barbara Futchel, will present
special anthems. Accompanist for the Children’s Choir will be Laura Frey.
   
The Sermon by Rev. Anita J. Ambrose is “For Once, Why Don’t We?” and the
Children’s Sermon will be “Love One Another.” Spring plants will be given to
all women attending the church service.
   
One service will be held on Mother’s Day
   
The Plymouth Christian Church, East Main Street, Plymouth, will hold one
service of worship only, at 10:45 a.m., May 10, Mother’s~~ Day.
   
A special program will be presented at the 9:45 a.m. Sunday School hour.
Following morning worship, a dinner will be held to honor all mothers. Meat,
beverage and bread will be provided. Each family is asked to bring one or more
vegetables, salad or dessert dishes. For information, call 779-1614.
   
WEST WYOMING
   
Christian Mothers’ Communion Breakfast
   
Our Lady of Sorrows Christian Mothers Altar and Rosary Society will host a
Communion Breakfast on May 17 following the 11 a.m. Mass at the church, 8th
Street, West Wyoming.
   
Guest speaker will be Sister Gertrude Grimes of St. Gabriel’s Retreat
House.
