The students at Small Wonders/Back Mountain Day Care School, Shavertown, recently held a bike-a-thon for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The students spent the week learning about bicycle safety through the stories of Bikewell Bear. They also learned the importance of helmet safety from a representative of The Northeast Highway Safety Program. The event, coordinated by Linda Somoga, director, raised more than $1,200. The school has been raising money for the hospital since 1999. More than $22,000 has been raised, to date.
