The Care and Concern Golf Tournament Committee recently presented $13,000 to the Care and Concern Free Health Clinic of St. John the Evangelist Parish. The money was raised through a golf tournament held in July at Emanon Country Club, Falls. More than 100 golfers participated. Mike Bean, chief executive officer, Mohegan Sun, served as honorary chair. The clinic serves the uninsured and the under-insured and is staffed by all volunteers. The money will help to offset the cost of diagnostic services and medications for patients of the clinic. Plans are being made for next year’s tournament which will be held on July 11, 2014, at Emanon. At the check presentation, from left, first row: Bernie Ambrosino, registered nurse, clinic; Rich Amico, golf committee; Dr. John Callahan, clinic medical director; and Paula Connors, golf committee. Second row: Carmen Ambrosino, golf committee; the Rev. Peter Tomczak, assistant pastor, St. John the Evangelist Parish; Gloria Blandina, clinic director; Monsignor John J. Bendik, pastor, St. John the Evangelist Parish; and Jim Blandina and Didge Connors, golf committee. Also participating were Billy Joyce, Mary Rossi and Carl Witkowski.
