WILKES-BARRE — A man was cited with disorderly conduct after he allegedly threw the scooter of a neighbor’s child against the neighbor’s door.

Police responded early Wednesday evening to West Madison Street, where a 29-year-old woman reported that her neighbor, John Hannagan, 60, threw a scooter against her door.

Hannagan allegedly told police that the scooter, which belongs to the woman’s child, was lying in his driveway when he returned home, so he moved the scooter to the woman’s porch and parked his vehicle. Shortly thereafter, Hannagan was leaving his residence and again found the scooter in his driveway.

Hannagan allegedly admitted that he became angry and threw the scooter on the porch and inadvertently struck the door.

Police filed a disorderly conduct citation against Hannagan with District Court 11-1-02. Hannagan was advised to contact the neighbor if her children leave any toys on his property, and the woman was advised to remind her children to be mindful of where her children leave their toys, police said.
