I've been remiss, and leave it to my good friend and fellow newsroom employee Mark Jones to point it out.
I have completely ignored the fact that this week has been National Bicycle Week.
Not only that that, I had no idea that Friday is National Bike to Work Day.
I'm not quite sure how I missed that since I do love commuting to work on my bike.
Perhaps I've just been to focused on the Giro d'Italia and Tour of California this past week.
By the way, you really should be watching those two races. Both have been extremely entertaining.
But there I go again getting sidetracked.
Back to Bike to Work Day. Everyone who is physically able should try biking to work on Friday.
Trust me, not only will you save a few pennies on gas, your Friday will be better for it.
There's nothing better to clear your head before heading into the office than a nice ride. And nothing helps rid your mind of a frustrating day at the office than a brisk ride home.
If you don't have access to a shower at work (which I don't) just take it easy on the way to work and leave yourself a little time to cool down before you change into your work clothes. Then leave your work clothes at the office and pick up the pace on the way home.
Heck, if you have a few friends that participating in the day, organize a group ride for the way home. It will be a lot less expensive that heading to Happy Hour and a lot better for you.
And as always, ride safely.
