Elizabeth Kathleen Proietto and Jacob Donald Van Hyning, together with their families, announce their engagement and approaching marriage.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Ruth E. Proietto. She is the granddaughter of Lois A. Cooper, the late Wesley Cooper and Grace Proietto and the late Pat Proietto.
The groom is the son of Ken and Kathryn Van Hyning, Washington. He is a member of the U.S. Marine Corp.
Elizabeth is a graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School and of Misericordia University with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary and special education. She is a special education teacher at Barry Robinson Center, Norfolk, Virginia.
Jacob graduated from Mount Si High School, Snoqualmie, Washington. He joined the military in 2013 and was eventually stationed in Virginia, where he met his bride to be.
The couple is planning a 2015 wedding in Virginia.
