Jennifer Balent, Plains Township, and Joseph Robert Calore, Wilkes-Barre, together with their families, are pleased to announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Joseph and Doris Balent, Plains Township. She is the granddaughter of the late Michael and Clara Balent, Plains Township, and the late William and Irene Schur, Wilkes-Barre.

The prospective groom is the son of the late Robert and Joan Ann Calore, Wilkes-Barre. He is the grandson of the late Joseph and Catherine Calore, Wilkes-Barre, and the late Thomas and Dorothy Burns, Wilkes-Barre.

Jennifer graduated from James M. Coughlin High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary and early childhood education from King’s College. She is employed as an employment consultant for Educational Data Systems, Inc. at the Wilkes-Barre Career Link Office.

Joseph graduated from Elmer L. Meyers High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in human resources management from King’s College and a Master of Business Administration degree from Wilkes University. He is employed as a program director for the Commission on Economic Opportunity in Wilkes-Barre and is also an adjunct faculty member at Wilkes University’s Jay S. Sidhu School of Business & Leadership.

The couple will be united in marriage on June 13, 2015, at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, Wilkes-Barre.
