Fereck Kotula

The Chapel at Duke University was the setting for the wedding of Michelle Fereck and Dr. Jonathan Kotula on March 7, 2015.

Michelle is the daughter of Michael and Mary Lou Fereck, Duryea. She is the granddaughter of the the late Bartley and Isabel Kaminski, Duryea, and Elizabeth and the late Albert Fereck Port Griffith.

Escorted by her father the bride chose a Sophia Tolli strapless sweetheart mermaid gown in misty tulle and lace. Asymmetrically draped and finely pleated tulle enfolds the bodice accented with matching hand-beaded motifs below the bust and at the asymmetrically dropped waist. Scattered lace appliqués highlight the tulle skirt with scalloped lace hem and chapel length train. A back corset closure completes the look.

Michelle chose her sister Mercedes Carasco as matron of honor and her sister Morgan Fereck as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Tara Noland, college friend, Michelle Hillard work associated and friend, Dr.Becky Woodruff friend of the couple.

Jonathan is the son of Walter Kotula and Debbie Stevens of Dupont. He is the grandson of Laura and the late Edward Kotula Dupont, and Elisabeth and the late Leonard Tarutis, Barnesville.

The groom chose his Brother, Steven Kotula as best man; friends of the groom served as ushers, Dave Boczkowski, Dr. Andy Baraniak, Patrick Woodruff, and Dr. Brian Capp. Ring bearer was Hunter Carrasco, nephew of the bride. Readings were given by godfather of the Bride, Joseph Suchocki; and godfather of the groom, Sam Alfano. Intercessions were read by Jason Carrasco, brother in law of the bride.

The reception was held at the Nasher Museum of Art on Duke’s campus. The rehearsal party was hosted by the parents of the groom at the Pit Barbecue, Durham, NC. After a Hawaiian honeymoon the couple will reside in Somereville Ma. Michelle is a registered architect at Bergmeyer Associates in Boston and Jonathan is the head of synthetic biology at Synlogic in Cambridge,MA.
