Edwin A. Buchalski, 86, of South Main Street, Hanover Township, passed away Monday, December 20, 2010, at home.
Born March 21, 1924, in Nanticoke, he was a son of the late Joseph and Frances Zdiarski Buchalski.
He was a graduate of Nanticoke High School and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Edwin had been employed in the local coal mines.
He was a member of the Washington Hosehouse and the Six County Fireman’s Association.
Edwin was also a member of Holy Transfiguration Ukranian Catholic Church, Hanover Section of Nanticoke, and had served for many years as the church’s cemetery superintendent.
He is survived by his wife, the former Veronica Salkowski.
Blessing services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Stanley S. Stegura Funeral Home Inc., 614 S. Hanover St., Nanticoke. Friends may call Wednesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until time of services. Interment will be in Holy Transfiguration Cemetery, Nanticoke.
