These two Indigo Buntings were spotted in Pat Giordano’s neighbor’s yard in Harveys Lake after a day of heavy rain. Pat was not only lucky to get a shot, but two in the same picture was a gift. These brilliantly-colored yet common and widespread birds sing their song through the late spring and summer all over eastern North America. A breeding male Indigo Bunting is blue all over, with slightly richer blue on his head and a shiny, silver-gray bill.
