HAZLETON – The McCann School of Business & Technology Hazleton campus now offers an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification course, preparing students to take the cognitive and psychomotor sections of the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician (NRRMT) certification test. Students must be certified EMTs to enroll in McCann’s Paramedic program.

Operating under the nation’s most recent registry system of rules and requirements, this EMT program prepares students to assist patients with medical, behavioral and traumatic emergencies and will be offered four times a year.

McCann’s Paramedic program provides students with additional knowledge and skills in advanced procedures in trauma, cardiology, pharmacology, neurology, pediatrics, geriatrics and more. The programs curriculum adheres to the National Standard curriculum and upon successful completion, students will be prepared to take the cognitive and psychomotor national registry exam for paramedics.

Both the EMT certification course and Paramedic program consist of lectures, on campus skill labs and off-site clinical requirements. To enroll in the EMT certification course or for additional information contact the Hazleton Campus at 570- 497-8173.
